This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with applicants who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

For the development of novel solutions in the area of Extreme UV technology (EUV) we are seeking a Sr. Material Engineer who has the ability to perform a variety of tasks including design, development and execution of materials testing required for qualifying materials for usage in EUV sources. 

  • Works closely with cross-functional groups to qualify materials, perform life time testing and improve performance of EUV source components.  Validates concepts through experiments.
  • Independently investigates scientific and technical problems and challenges; evaluates and recommends solutions.
  • Performs materials qualification for different parts of the EUV source
  • Applies advanced experimental and analytical skills to define requirements and devise solutions to technical performance matters.
  • Requests and analyzes data obtained using materials characterization techniques (such as mechanical testing, including tensile, compressive, torsional, creep, fatigue, toughness and hardness testing; SEM, EDS, TEM, and so on)
  • Organizes information in easily accessible format
  • Build and perform test setup for different project and modules.
  • Validate & Document the test analyze report.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Requires a BS Degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics or related discipline with at least 6 years of related industry experience.
  • Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.
  • Requires a solid understanding and hands on experience with a wide variety of modern materials characterization techniques (such as FTIR, UV-Vis, mechanical testing, including tensile, compressive, torsional, creep, fatigue, toughness and hardness testing; tribology; SEM, EDS, TEM etc.).
  • Experience with lifetime testing of materials is desired.
  • Experience with NX, Solidworks, ProE (3D CAD) system is plus.
  • Experience with Vacuum System and building test setup is plus.
  • Experience with data analysis software such as Excel, JMP, Minitab, Matlab etc. is desired
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with tin, liquid metal corrosion, and metal thin film deposition and etch is a plus
