  • Experience with common control architecture (open/closed loops) and electronic theory
  • Knowledge of computer system networks, including IPv4
  • Knowledge of industrial PCs in a Windows and Linux environment
  • Knowledge of communication protocols (TCP/UDP)
  • Knowledge of Bash desirable
  • Knowledge of Python desirable
  • Knowledge of software version control tools desirable (SVN)
  • Hands-on experience with common electrical test equipment (multimeter, signal generator, oscilloscope, analog digital converters and digital analog converters) 
  • Practical experience with developing, setting up, running, and collecting of data from test experiments
  • Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.
  • Ability to develop trouble-shooting guide/action plans
  • Flexibility in work schedule including alternating day and night shifts and travels to oversees customer sites at short notice
  • The employee is required to support off-hours/on-call phone support for escalation management
  • Requires a minimum Bachelor’s Degree in science and engineering such as software, controls, mechanical, physics, or electrical.  Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, no experience required with a Master’s Degree but is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in controls of optics, laser-induced plasma, optical metrology a plus.
  • Experience in semiconductor equipment development a plus.

  • Travel to overseas and domestic customer sites up to 20% may be required
  • Work schedule may vary considerably to include evenings, nights and weekends as well as long hours based on business needs
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. 
  • The environment generally is moderate in temperature and noise level.
  • Will work within a clean room environment in full gown, hood and gloves, where the noise level may be high.
  • Must be capable of working in the lab at floor level to 8 feet high with appropriate ladder.
